1. Agreement to These Terms
These Terms govern your use of the Life in the UK Exam Kit - LINUK website and mobile applications (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
For the iOS application, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. You can read the Apple Standard EULA.
2. About LINUK
LINUK is an independent, unofficial study aid for the Life in the UK test. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the UK Government, the Home Office, or the official test administrator. Practice results do not guarantee success in the official examination.
3. Accounts and Communications
Account creation is optional. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for activity performed through it. We may send transactional messages needed for login, security, purchases, and support. Marketing messages are optional and require separate consent where required by law.
4. Free and Premium Access
No payment is required to use the free features. Free users can access practice questions and a limited number of mock tests. Optional premium access provides unlimited mock tests and additional study and progress features. We may adjust free and premium features prospectively, but changes do not remove access already granted by an active purchase except where required for security, law, or misuse.
5. Mobile Purchases and Subscriptions
- Weekly Premium: an auto-renewable subscription billed weekly
- Monthly Premium: an auto-renewable subscription billed monthly
- Lifetime Access: a one-time purchase, not an auto-renewable subscription
The price and applicable currency are displayed by the App Store or Google Play before purchase and may vary by country. Payment is charged to your store account at confirmation. Weekly and monthly subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the end of the current billing period. The store may charge renewal within the period stated in its terms.
You can manage or cancel an Apple subscription in your Apple account subscription settings. Deleting the LINUK app or account does not cancel a store subscription. Refund requests for mobile purchases are handled by Apple or Google under the applicable store policies.
6. Website Purchases
Website purchases are processed by Stripe. The checkout page displays the plan, billing period, price, and any renewal terms before payment. Recurring website plans can be managed or cancelled through the billing portal. Statutory cancellation and refund rights, where applicable, are not limited by these Terms.
7. Account Deletion
Signed-in mobile users can permanently delete their LINUK account from Settings → Delete Account. Account deletion removes the account, login sessions, synced progress, and associated customer data, subject to records we must retain by law. Account deletion cannot be undone and does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription.
For privacy details and other data requests, see our Privacy Policy.
8. Intellectual Property
The Service, software, design, original text, graphics, and databases are owned by or licensed to LINUK and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Practice content is based on publicly available information. We do not claim ownership of official government materials or affiliation with their owners.
9. Acceptable Use
You must not:
- Use the Service for illegal, fraudulent, or abusive purposes
- Interfere with the Service, its security, or other users
- Copy, resell, scrape, reverse engineer, or distribute protected parts of the Service without permission
- Share account credentials or attempt to obtain another user's account or purchase
- Use automated systems in a way that overloads or damages the Service
10. Availability and Changes
We may update the Service, correct content, introduce new features, or suspend parts of the Service for maintenance, security, legal, or operational reasons. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Material changes to these Terms will be posted with an updated date and will apply prospectively as required by law.
11. Disclaimers and Liability
The Service is provided for educational purposes and on an "as available" basis. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable consumer rights. To the maximum extent permitted by law, LINUK is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the Service.
12. Governing Law and Contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without limiting mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live. Courts with jurisdiction under applicable consumer law may hear disputes.
Questions about these Terms can be sent to info@linukonline.com or through our contact page.
