Privacy Policy

Last updated: 30 July 2026

Life in the UK Exam Kit - LINUK ("LINUK", "we", "us", or "our") provides the LINUK website and mobile applications. This policy explains what information we process, why we process it, and the choices available to you. Website and mobile app practices are described separately where they differ.

1. Information You Provide

Account creation is optional. When you create or use an account, contact support, or make a web purchase, we may process:

  • Your email address and LINUK account identifier
  • Login codes and sessions used to authenticate and secure your account
  • Information you submit through contact or support forms
  • Purchase and subscription status associated with your account

Payment card details are entered directly with Apple, Google, or Stripe. LINUK does not receive or store your full payment card number.

2. Mobile Application Data

Data stored on your device

Quiz answers, test history, chapter statistics, preferences, and most learning progress are stored locally on your device. You can remove this information using Reset Progress in Settings or by uninstalling the app.

Accounts and purchases

If you sign in, we process your email address and user ID for account functionality. RevenueCat processes a user ID, email address where provided, and purchase history to validate purchases, provide subscription entitlements, prevent fraud, and report subscription performance. Purchase history is used for app functionality and subscription analytics and is linked to your LINUK account when you sign in.

Diagnostics and problem reports

To keep the mobile app reliable, LINUK and Sentry may process sanitised crash, performance, and other technical diagnostic data, including app version, device type, operating system version, failing component, error message, connectivity status, and recent technical actions. This covers failures the app handles on its own, such as a purchase step that does not complete, and aggregate release health used to measure how often a build crashes. A random installation identifier helps us group repeated technical events. Session replay is not used, and default personally identifiable information is not sent to Sentry.

If you use Report a Problem, you choose whether to attach recent diagnostics and whether to provide a contact email. Your description, reproduction steps, optional email, and optional diagnostics are sent only when you submit the report. Passwords, login codes, authentication tokens, payment details, quiz answers, and learning progress are excluded from diagnostic payloads.

No cross-app tracking

The LINUK iOS application does not use your data for cross-app tracking, targeted advertising, or advertising measurement. It does not access the IDFA and does not currently display third-party advertising. We do not sell personal information or share mobile app data with data brokers.

3. Website Data, Cookies, and Analytics

When you use linukonline.com, our hosting and security providers may process IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, and security logs. The website uses necessary storage to keep you signed in and remember preferences.

With your cookie consent, the website may load Google Analytics, Hotjar, and Mixpanel to understand website usage and improve the service. This may include page interactions, heatmaps, and session recordings on the website. These website tools are separate from the iOS app, where session replay is not used. You can decline optional analytics through the website cookie controls or clear your browser storage at any time.

4. How We Use Information

  • Provide, secure, and maintain the website and mobile applications
  • Authenticate optional accounts and link cross-platform purchases
  • Validate purchases and provide premium entitlements
  • Respond to support requests and send necessary transactional messages
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
  • Analyse consented website usage and subscription performance
  • Comply with legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations

Marketing communications are optional and require separate consent where required by law. You can unsubscribe from marketing messages at any time.

5. Service Providers and Sharing

We use service providers including:

  • Apple App Store and Google Play: mobile purchase processing
  • RevenueCat: purchase validation and subscription management
  • Stripe: website payment processing and billing management
  • Supabase and our hosting providers: accounts, database, and infrastructure
  • Sentry: sanitised mobile error and crash diagnostics
  • Google Analytics, Hotjar, and Mixpanel: consent-based website analytics

We share only the information needed for these providers to perform their services. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users and the service, in connection with a business transfer, or with your consent.

6. Retention and Account Deletion

We retain account information only while it is needed to provide the service or meet legal obligations. Signed-in mobile users can permanently delete their LINUK account from Settings → Delete Account. This removes the account, login sessions, synced progress, and associated LINUK and RevenueCat customer data.

Deleting a LINUK account does not automatically cancel an App Store subscription. Apple subscriptions must be cancelled separately in your Apple account subscription settings. Payment and transaction records that we must retain for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, chargebacks, or other legal obligations may be retained in an anonymised or legally required form.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, including under UK GDPR and EU GDPR, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, object to processing, or receive a portable copy of your personal information. You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent and complain to your local data protection authority.

Use the in-app deletion option for account deletion or contact us for other requests.

9. Children

The service is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information.

10. Changes and Contact

We may update this policy and will publish the revised date on this page. For privacy questions or requests, email info@linukonline.com or use our contact page.
